Community Emergency Response Team Training

About a week ago I was thinking how I would handle a large scale disaster. How would I get to my family if we were not together? What would I do once we were together? I came to the conclusion that I am woefully unprepared and got on to Amazon to see what I could stock up on in their emergency products. I know it’s not enough to have a few survival kits from the internet.

The good news is the city of Euless will be hosting a community emergency response training starting July 26th, where they will teach basic emergency response skills. The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) initiative offers a free, nine-week course that teaches such skills as light search and rescue, fire safety and disaster medical operations.

The end goal is to not only be prepared to help yourself and family, but assist with neighbors until first responders arrive. The CERT Program is open to anyone who lives or works in Euless and is at least 18 years old. The training starts July 26, so you should register today! To register for this class, call 817-685-1600.
