We have had very cool and rainy October so far. To me there is nothing better on a cool rainy day than a hot bowl of pho. Now if you don’t know, pho is a Vietnamese soup consisting of broth, rice noodles called bánh phở, a few herbs, and meat, primarily made with either beef or chicken. I love adding in a little hoisin sauce to add a touch of sweetness and a little Sriracha to spice it up a bit.
My entire family loves pho. So you can imagine how long we have been anticipating the opening of Wii’s Pho & Grill. Given how close this is to my home (we could walk there), we really hoped it would become one of our regular haunts. It did not let us down.
Let’s start with the ambiance. As with most pho establishments, this is not a white table cloth experience but it’s clean and modern. There are several TVs available in case a big game is on and pop music filled the space. I could not help but notice it was a younger demographic eating there for the most part. The staff was inviting and prompt with the service. Overall, I think they have done a great job with the ambiance.
Now on to the important stuff, the food. Our family of four decided to start with the grilled pork spring rolls which scored well with all of us. I especially liked how green the lettuce was compared to other pho restaurants. Our server was nice enough to note that there was a slight menu change and they started offering a small or large portion of pho. Pro tip, the small is still a very good sized portion especially if you’re getting appetizers like we did. We got a round of the small portion pho in chicken and steak. The broth, which is the most important part of pho, was perfect and seemed authentic. Thumbs up from around the table.
So in conclusion, we are very excited to have another family owned small business to support in our fair town here. It helps that this is a very affordable and delicious meal option. I highly recommend it.
